Birthday Girl!!

Makenzie turned 7 on Saturday!  What a good day!
She had a "butterfly" birthday party planned with all the specifics.
Rainbow Cake!  I knew it would only be a matter of time before I did a cake like this for her.

Some of her friends at the party.  They decorated their own butterfly wings.  They played "Pin the Butterfly on the flower."  They then decorated their own flower pot with stickers and planted a pansy in it.

Makenzie's present from us...  a new bike!  We took her to the store that morning and she picked it out.

More trouble!

This guy is keeping me hopping!  We went to the park to run out some wiggles, since the day before was a rainy one.  It started out with Gavin going over to the puddles and throwing rocks in the water, then it was tiptoeing through it, then it was running through it, then he tripped over his feet and face planted it, and then he just completely enjoyed himself by rolling all over in it.   He was in heaven!  I think all the mom's hated me.  So many kids were tempted to do the same thing and their mother's were giving me the evil eye while yelling at their children to stay away from the water.   I'm usually one of those mother's.... but with a big belly and busy 2 year old, I decided to just sit and enjoy myself at the park as well.

Can we fit one more?

This is a typical scene on our weekends.... everyone in bed cuddling.  It is getting mighty squishy.  I think it is time to upgrade to a king bed :)

Oh, Gavin!!!

I guess he isn't as attached to his beautiful red hair as I am!  And good thing he is a boy and a buzzed head isn't as much of a dramatic thing than if he was a girl!

I had given a boys a trim earlier in the evening.  Everyone had showered and bathed and we were all playing upstairs.  Gavin had gone downstairs to find one of his shoes.  I realized after about 5 minutes that he never came back up and it was really quiet!  The older kids ran down the stairs right then and all of a sudden Jordan is screaming and crying hysterically telling me that Gavin had the "cutters."  My first thought was that he was bleeding all over... from scissors or a razor.  Nope, he just decided to buzz his head with the trimmer on the shortest length possible!  Jordan was so sad for him.  So I trimmed the rest of the hair off and now it looks like I have a kid with cancer.  (I don't mean that in any offensive way with children who really are suffering from cancer.  That's just what everyone assumes when you have a bald child!)  He rubs his fuzzy head and asks where his hair went.  Every time Gavin looks in the mirror now too, he gives himself a peculiar look, like he knows that face looking back at him but his reflection is surely different.

This is the after.

The video will show the hysterics that Jordan was having and our silly innocent 2 year old not knowing what he really did.

Baby belly

My belly looks huge at the angle I'm taking this and it's not the best quality with it being taken from the phone.  But my three "babies" are soooo excited for their baby sister to come!   They love to talk to her and feel her kick back in response.

Here's Jordan... unedited!

This is Jordan with his true personality.  I found this video that he did of himself without me knowing.  VERY TYPICAL!

Makenzie

I grew up with a cat that was known as "my cat."  She just seemed to be attached to me.  She lived a very long life.  Miss Lilly is definitely Makenzie's cat.  They are like 2 peas in pod.

Makenzie had a Spring expedition with her dance class this past week.  Here she is showing off some of her skills on the hoop.
