Happy Birthday to.....

our baby BOY!!

Gavin Christian Sherman
Born at 7:43 a.m. July 31, 2009
9lbs, 20 inches long

Baby Gavin was 9 days overdue! I was scheduled to be induced at 7:30 a.m. this morning. I started to have real contractions at 4:30. I woke up Tyler at 5 am and knew I couldn't wait much longer. We got to the hospital and I went too fast to get any pain medications, so I experienced a natural labor! Yikes... it was quite the emotional experience.

Gavin is sporting some handsome red hair that runs in both of our families. Makenzie loves her new baby brother and isn't bothered by the fact that the sister she requested didn't come. Jordan is oblivious to the new situation and has been more interested in playing with all the buttons and gadgets in the hospital room.

I'll post more pictures as the days go by. Newborn pics aren't always the best :)

Gavin with my doctor, Dr. Al-Jerdi.

We are now out numbered!

Jordan was mocking Tyler with the hospital phone while he was making phone calls.

Doesn't he look like a little old man? He was getting his first bath.

There is an end....

After 9 long days of being overdue with this baby, I finally got the okay to be induced tomorrow!

No baby yet.... GRRR!

The title says it all... I'm overdue even though my body has been saying any day now for the last 2 weeks. I am now dilated to a 4 cm and completely thinned, all without any painful contractions. The doctors aren't willing to help me out yet, even though I would prefer it. I've got family here now for a limited amount of time. I know it wouldn't take much to get me going. Don't worry, I'll post the good news when it happens!

JOY

Our new rental home

Sorry but this isn't THE post about the arrival of our new little one... we are still waiting. I have found a doctor now and we had an appointment on Wednesday. All is well and progressing.... so really any day! You know it is time when your maternity shirts are becoming belly shirts!

My last post was a little dramatic and negative with our adventures of moving. But really between all that and the awaiting arrival of #3, I have felt plenty of joy. My husband and beautiful children bring so much happiness into my life and I love them so very much!

We have had a change of pace with Tyler finishing up his first 2 years of medical school, which consisted of book work, studying all the time, tests, and a lot of stress. He is now "working" and will be rotating with all the different specialties for the next 2 years. Some specialties are more time consuming than others. Also there will still be some tests and studying required, but not to the extent that it has been in the past. For 4 weeks, Tyler is currently in a Family Practice office that is open from 9am-5pm, with a half-day on Friday. It has been wonderful to have him come home and to be home without the need to study. We have enjoyed so much family time these past few weeks. To have weekends free without the necessity to study is heaven sent!

Here's some of our 4th of July Celebrations. We had a small BBQ with some friends and did fireworks in our backyard.

Jordan is more than willing to help mow the lawn. Jordan is also sporting out his new ride- a great $2 find.
