3 Buns in the Oven....

Oh the joys of pregnancy.... One of which is having the kids imitate Mommy.

Makenzie's Big Catch

We went to the dollar store today and I felt like being a "nice" mom and letting my kids each pick out a new toy. Makenzie came home with a butterfly net, excited to catch any bugs or butterflies. She hopped right out of the car, ready to go, only to find there weren't many bugs around, especially any that were willing to be caught. After being discouraged for only a few minutes, she found something much better than any bug or butterfly. She found a baby bird in the grass who must have fallen out of it's nest. It was quite friendly and hopped to Makenzie's feet. She enjoyed playing with the little bird until she decided it was best to put it back in the tree where hopefully it's family would find it.

I hate facial hair.

I hate facial hair period. (No offense to any of those who like it.) Tyler knows I hate it, but every so often he feels he needs to show his manliness and grow it out. He got many compliments, so he says. He usually gives in to my pleading and playful negative banter within a few weeks, mostly because I don't like to kiss that itchy hairy face. This is what I had to live with....

Here he is shaving it off and having fun....
I actually like the goutee look better....

No thank you....
No thank you....
AND no thank you!

For some reason I didn't capture the end, which of course is the best part, a nicely clean shaven HANDSOME husband. Most of you know what he looks like without it anyways.

Who says you can't play baseball in the house?

I pulled out one of the kids Christmas presents from last year that we hid because of all the toy overload. It's great to have a "free" new toy for the beginning of summer, a T-ball set. For most of this week we have been hit with rainy days, so our recreation has been moved indoors. Makenzie has really caught on to hitting the ball with Tyler as the pitcher. After a few good whacks, mostly at Tyler, I suggested maybe it should just be for outdoors!

These aren't the best pictures, as the kids were about ready to go to bed. Makenzie takes the cutest little stance.

Jordan had to have his turn at things as well...

Oh, to be a kid again!

I finally broke out the pool for the kids this week... I did have to use 4 big buckets of hot water (along with the hose water) to make it comfortable enough to play in. What joy and excitement! It was a pleasant afternoon that ended with popsicles.

Another bed time post....

I just had to show another night of my findings after the kids went to sleep...

I had to get a picture of the blinds. We have gone through 3 sets of blinds and they really need to be replaced again, but I'm not doing it until we move next month.

Bedroom Time

Our kids bedtime can get tricky when it's still sunny outside at 7:30.  We follow the same bedtime routine, but the kids are continuously staying up later than what they use to.  I really don't care when they actually go to sleep, just as long as they stay in their room.  Somedays they nod off pretty quick, while other days I hear them up for over an hour.  It's a tradition for me to go in there once they drift off to dreamland to see the aftermath of "bedroom time."  I've been wanting to capture what I find and haven't done it until now.   I laugh every time I go in there and see my sweet innocent sleeping angels.

On Sunday...  Makenzie had practically all the toys she owned in bed with her.
On Monday... She was snoozing on top of her bear using it as a pillow, wearing her slippers (that she usually hates wearing), with a book in her hands.
Tonight... it was this.
Jordan loves her bed, but Makenzie is never willing share it, until tonight I guess.

Found!

Finally all the waiting and watching is over.... We have found the perfect rental home in Michigan.  House hunting has not been very fun, especially doing it from a different state.  We scored great and the owners are a medical school family moving on.  They were so happy to help out another med family.  Pictures will come once we move in and make it our own.
