Our daughter is picking up some sassiness to her. She totally knows how to get on the internet and click her bookmark to play her pbskids.org games. One day she came up to me while I was on the computer and said ,"Get off mom, I have to check my emails!" (I wonder where she got that from!) That's her way of saying "I want to play my games." She says it quite often now.
We were at the library last week and she ran to the kids computer that they use for the book search. I told her to get off and she said very loudly, "NO! I'm checking my emails!" Well, the kid's librarian heard that and gave us a big lecture that the kids computer was not for checking emails. This lady is always on my toes about little things. My goodness... do you really think my 3 year old would have an email account?

Kids will be kids!
So it is finally starting to warm up enough that we can play outside almost every afternoon. We don't have a fenced backyard, so I have to watch the kids like a hawk. Today we went out to find many puddles in the ally way due to a good rain storm last night. For about 10 minutes I kept redirecting the kids away from them, especially Jordan. Finally to no avail, I gave up! I thought, "Why can't they play in the gross muddy cold water? Will it really hurt them? NO!" So I backed away and let them have at it for the next hour!
They loved it! The memories of me getting dirty came flooding in... and I decided my kids have to be kids, and a part of enjoying their childhood is getting real dirty! Jordan was head to toe soaked and caked in mud by the end.

Birthday Girl!
At last this day has come! I don't think Makenzie ever thought it would come, but yes, today was her 3rd birthday! She was sooooo excited to open her presents, so we let her do it during breakfast. She also got a special "Princess" ice cream cake that we shared with some friends this evening. Jordan enjoyed some chocolate cake as well. It was a fun day!

Red Light, Green Light!
Makenzie has just grasped the concept of what a traffic light is. Now I constantly have a pesky back seat driver! Kirksville isn't very big, but it contains a lot of traffic lights! Whenever we are driving, all I hear is, "Oh, it's green Mom! You can go!" "Oh, Mom! It's red! STOP!" "It's turning yellow!" She is constantly looking ahead for the next light to see what it will be. It was a nice little game for the first couple times, but now I'm tired of it.

Spring Break
We are back from a nice trip. My parents came to visit with us for Spring Break. I feel bad that they drive all this way to see us and in order to see anything fun, you have to drive some more. We went down to St. Louis for a couple days. Nana B. and Papa Joe took the kids to the zoo while we went to the temple. It was beautiful weather. We then drove to Kansas City and spent the night. It set us up to see all the Missouri church history sites. Independence, Liberty Jail, Far West, Adam-ondi-Ahman, etc. Even though it was wasn't green and beautiful, there was an amazing spirit there!

Did you ever play with....
Lite Bright and My Little Ponies when you were little? I have many memories playing with them. They meant so much to me that I stored these sentimental toys for years. My mom would be proud. I don't why I saved them, because they continue to sell them at stores today! Maybe I thought they wouldn't, and they would have been worth something. Who knows! Anyways I pulled them all out for Makenzie to play with and she loves them. She will work on the Lite Bright for hours. I've got over 20 My Little Ponies that are a favorite with all the neighborhood girls too! I even saved many of my stuffed bears from my childhood. I can tell you who gave me each one and when. They now sit atop Makenzie's bed.

This is the latest phase Jordan is going through. He serenaded us during dinner.
