Tyler served his mission in Guatemala about 10 years ago. Of course, he claims it was the best place in the world to serve a mission, as everyone else who serves says about their missions as well! I knew we would go back someday. They announced the building of a temple in Quetzaltenango about four years ago. We kind of had it in our heads to make the trip for the dedication. We have been anticipating it over the years and when they announced the dates for the dedication, we were happy to pull things together and make it work to go.
Tyler's parents flew out and watched the kids for us.... a BIG thank you!! They also brought, Lexi, one of the cousins for the kids to play with. I've got plenty of stories and pictures and I use my blog as our family history, so enjoy as much as you want. Just a few facts.... The city Quetzaltenango is named after the national bird, the Quetzal. Their currency is also named after the bird.
We were gone for a week. I'm glad we went and I'm also glad to have made it back to the U.S. of A. alive! We got lots of video that helps visualize the trip better. If I find the time, I may upload a few.

That's really cool that you guys got to go! My mom was there at the same time as you guys! She also served her mission there, but more than 10 years ago :)
