Mommy's Turn

My posts usually consist of my kids and husband, so I figure I'll post about me this time. Of course I'm sure people are wanting to see my belly. But this is the third time around, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise! I am now 6 months along. Pregnancy has been treating me well lately. I'm just expecting all the unpleasant third trimester symptoms to come soon. I had suffered from laryngitis and the worst cold ever for 2 weeks straight! I'm finally over that bug.

I have been wanting/needing to get another maternity skirt, so I started the hunt for a nice, white, summery skirt. I found a few, but not in my size or way overly priced for our med-school budget. I finally decided to make one. Luckily I found all that I needed in this little town for $15. I finished it this afternoon and put it on and found a problem! It was way too tight! I even carefully measured my growing hips and belly beforehand to make sure it would fit. Tells you how good of a seamstress I am? I ended up cutting 5 inches off the top and adding a "belly band." It's an elastic band made out of t-shirt material. Now it is perfect!

Way to go making your own skirt! I'm so impressed. I don't do well with actual clothing. It turned out really cute by the way!
